After all the myriad Hunger Games: Catching Fire trailers and TV spots so far focused on the crescendo to the Quarter Quell — cutting off right as Katniss is thrust into the battle — the diabolic tropical arena of the 75th Hunger Games is the star of the latest and last trailer, which you can check out below.
As the preview starts, Katniss climbs a banyan tree in a lush tropical forest, scoping out her environs and getting a bird's eye view of arena's layout.
"Ms. Everdeen, you fought very hard in the arena, but they were games," President Snow threatens in the voiceover. "Would you like to be in a real war?"
As Snow watches on the surveillance feed, Katniss fires an arrow straight up into the sky — launching the trailer into an action-packed montage of the struggles inside the arena and in the world at large — as the tributes fight for their lives and the district commoners fight for their livelihood.
We also get our first glimpses of some of the arena's hazards: tremendous tidal waves, vicious monkeys, ominous fog, and sharp-beaked birds, which swarm Katniss as she hits an invisible wall while Peeta can only bear witness. (We're trying to protect newcomers from spoilers, but those of you familiar with the books know exactly what these perils affect Katniss, Peeta, and their fellow combatants.)
This will likely be our last look at new footage until the movie roars into theaters on November 22. So you tell us: Does the second installment look like all you hoped for?
