Tyler Baltierra Shares Update on Catelynn’s Rehab Stay: “She’s Doing Great!”
Catelynn Lowell is really struggling right now — but as per usual, her husband is her rock.
Now, Ty is updating fans on his wife's progress and her "strength" as she begins treatment.
On Friday, November 17, the 25-year-old tweeted she had "thought of every way to kill myself," so she checked herself into treatment to "#makechesterproud," referring to Linkin Park's Chester Bennington, who commited suicide in July.
Cate, an advocate for mental health, also shared that she's taking a little piece of her daughter, Nova to treatment with her — this stuffed horse that's one of the almost 3-year-old's favorite toys.
And now that she's getting the help she so desperately needed, Tyler is speaking out on her treatment.
The Tierra Reign co-founder shared an update on Twitter on November 19, telling fans his wife is "doing great and pushing through."
Just got an update from Cate, shes doing GREAT & pushing through! We are both so moved by all of the support from you guys. It means so much! #KeepTalkingMHTyler Baltierra (@TylerBaltierra) November 20, 2017
He also thanked fans for their support.
Glad to hear she's on the up and up!
Meanwhile, the dad of one, who's suffered his own bouts of depression over the years and even attempted suicide at age 12, commended his wife for making the decision to get help in the first place.
Incredibly proud of my wife...when she thought she had no choices left, she reached out & decided to LIVE today! My life would be desolate without her in it. You are beautiful, strong, worthy, & loved @CatelynnLowell #KeepTalkingMHTyler Baltierra (@TylerBaltierra) November 17, 2017
We just dropped her off. We havent held each other & just cried like that for a long time. Even after 12 years, I continue to be AMAZED by her strength, vulnerability, & courage to get help. As long as I am alive, you will never be alone #KeepTalkingMH pic.twitter.com/E90jUv4vR4Tyler Baltierra (@TylerBaltierra) November 18, 2017
But as TMOG fans know, this isn't exactly the Baltierras' first rodeo.
In April 2016, Cate first made the brave decision to enter an in-patient treatment facility in Arizona when she was struggling with postpartum depression.
She also revealed on the show at the time that she hoped treatment would help her stop smoking weed, which was a drug she went to when she needed to calm down.
The adoption advocate also talked about her feelings in therapy sessions that were filmed for the MTV series, even revealing she feared she'd have anxious and suicidal thoughts forever.
“I hate feeling the anxiety,” she said during a session with therapist Kathleen. “I don’t want to deal with this for the rest of my life.”
And though she's clearly not totally cured, the reality star has gotten better over time with the help of therapy, medication, and of course, her loving husband as her support system.
Also, though the couple of 12 years wants more kids, Cate worries about getting pregnant again because she could suffer another bout of postpartum depression and anxiety like she did after Nova's January 2015 birth.
But whatever happens baby-wise with the Baltierras in the future, it's comforting to know they've really got each other through sickness and in health!
What do you think of Catelynn's decision to seek treatment again? Is Tyler the best hubby ever? Share in the comments.
