Catelynn Lowell and husband Tyler Baltierra’s spin-off show has come to an end before it really even had a chance to begin.

According to Tyler, MTV has decided to cancel the couple’s spin-off show, Reunited.

The show first aired as a special one-hour episode as part of the Season 6 finale of Teen Mom OG back in December. However, it now seems that was the first and last episode.

The 25-year-old broke the news on Twitter on Wednesday, June 14.

“@MTV refused @ReunitedMTV because ‘it was too heavy,’” he wrote, adding, “Even though it rated #2 on cable TV that night.”

He then asked fans if they’d like to see more episodes and the majority said they would.

The short lived spin-off would follow the couple as they reunited estranged family members.

The project was close to the young parents’ hearts, as they placed their first daughter, Carly, up for adoption on 16 & Pregnant in 2009.

In the show’s first episode, the pair reunited Kati with her birth mom and sister.

The two worked together to track down Kati’s biological relatives. Once they did, the reunion was filled with tears but was ultimately moving.

MTV has yet to comment on the cancellation but fans believe the reason is unfair.

“Hmm ‘too heavy’? Did they forget how heavy [Catelynn and Tyler’s] episode of 16 and Pregnant was?!” one user tweeted.

Another brought up how MTV airs True Life, which deals with topics like addiction and adoption.

“They can’t pick and choose what’s too heavy or not,” they added.
