Catherine Giudici must still be in a honeymoon fog, because she definitely exercised some cloudy judgment with a recent Instagram share, which has since been deleted. Unfortunately, the offending photo, which appears to show the recently wed Bachelor beauty in blackface, had already been screencapped by numerous outlets (including Wetpaint).

“New on IG: The Selective Chocolate Bar Filter,” read the caption, which showed a side-by side of two versions of the same photo featuring Catherine and her fellow Season 17 co-star (and BFF/bridesmaid) Lesley Murphy. On the right side of the split, Sean Lowe’s new wife appears to have applied the Instagram contrast tool, which has made her complexion several shades darker than her natural tan.

We’re guessing Cat was just trying to point out the flaw in the photo app’s contrast tool; Instead, it looked like the newlywed was posting a blackface photo of herself. Naturally, several followers commented about the inappropriateness of the image and Catherine’s “Chocolate Bar” comment, and it seems those complaints were heard loud and clear, since she quickly deleted the shot.

Of course, Mrs. Lowe isn’t the first celeb to get into hot water over a racially insensitive photo. Back around Halloween, Julianne Hough caught a lot of flak for choosing to dress as Crazy Eyes from Orange Is The New Black, in a costume that included dark makeup over her normally fair complexion.

We’re pretty sure Catherine will be a whole lot more careful before pushing “share” in the future!

What do you think — harmless mistake or shocking lapse in judgment?
