The Lohans are no strangers to the legal system but it’s not Lindsay who stood before a judge earlier today. Mom Dina was the one who got the book thrown at her. Well, if “book” means a strongly worded reprimand and a sizeable chunk of community service hours.
Dina, you’ll recall, pled guilty to DWI in April after she was arrested seven months earlier. Caught going 77 in a 55 mph zone, the 51-year-old had a blood alcohol level of 0.20, more than twice the legal limit. She fessed up to the crime, specifically to aggravated DWI and speeding, on Tax Day 2014.
Nearly two months later she finally had to face the music. What kind of sentence is she looking at? Community service for 100 hours and a revoked license for a year. Once she can get behind the wheel, she’ll have to have an interlock device on her car for another 365 days.
The punishment came with a stern warning too. The judge reportedly gave Dina a serious talking to. “The only person responsible for this ordeal is Miss Lohan,” he said. “She is just lucky nobody was killed. She may not be as lucky next time.”
Dina’s reply? “There will not be a next time.”
