He played Christopher "Biggie Smalls" Wallace in the 2009 film Notorious, but now rapper-actor Jamal Woolard may be notorious for a different recent altogether.

TMZ reports that police arrested the 38-year-old in Gwinnett County, GA, on June 7 after responding to a domestic dispute call. (Gwinnett is just north-east of Atlanta.)

The site also cites sources who say that a minor called the cops, saying, "Dad hit mom." (Bear in mind that that is just hearsay, but TMZ has a relatively reputable track history.)

Per TMZ, Jamal has since been booked for alleged battery, cruelty to children, and simple assault.

Notorious — which also starred Derek Luke, Angela Bassett, and Anthony Mackie — earned $44 million worldwide. Jamal's performance in the biopic earned him a nomination at the BET Awards and two at the Black Reel Awards.

As a rapper — with the stage name Gravy — the Brooklyn native released five mixtapes between 2006 and 2009, having been signed to Warner Bros. Records.

He also made headlines in 2006 after being shot in the left buttock outside the New York City offices of Hot 97 — and still carrying on with his interview with Funkmaster Flex.
