We think Jackie Chan is going to be putting those martial arts moves to use when he kicks his son square in the tuchus. According to Us Weekly, the Rush Hour star’s 31-year-old son, actor Jaycee Chan, tested positive for marijuana and was arrested in Beijing. Apparently China isn’t cool with casual celeb drug use and he is the latest famous face arrested in the crackdown.
The site reports that Jaycee — along with Taiwanese actor Kai Ko — was detained after a raid on Thursday, August 14. Apparently police uncovered more than 100 grams of pot in Jaycee’s apartment (that’s 3.5274 ounces, by the way).
So what’s the price Jaycee might have to pay for his recreational drug use? According to CNN, the Love Speaks actor could face up to three years in jail as he is being accused of “hosting others to take drugs.” Yikes!
CNN also quotes China Daily as saying Jaycee’s arrest is one of 7,000 drug use arrests in Beijing — which is a 72 percent increase from last year. If one thing’s for certain, it sounds like China isn’t going to be legalizing marijuana anytime soon. (Come to Washington or Colorado, everyone!)
As for what Jackie has to say about this? The Shanghai Knights star has yet to comment.
