Losing baby weight is hard enough already, but imagine doing so in the public spotlight.

Luckily, Jessica Simpson seems to have run that particular gauntlet — she reveals in a new interview with USA Today that she's back to the weight she was before becoming pregnant with son Ace, born June 30.

And the pop star has had to shed pregnancy poundance twice — having lost 50 pounds after daughter Maxwell was born in May 2012.

Her secret? For one, she adopted a healthier pregnancy lifestyle this time around. And, once her doctor gave her the go-ahead after Ace's birth, she reunited with Weight Watchers — adopting the company's diet plan while continuing her active lifestyle.

Jess has also found that exercise comes naturally with motherhood: "With both kids, I'm running up and down my stairs a million times. Kids can keep your metabolism going."

The 33-year-old even incorporates exercise into her relationship with fiancé Eric Johnson: "Eric and I go on walks together. I try and walk about four miles a day consistently. It makes me feel better."

And now, she seems to be ignoring the haters: "It does get old having people harping on how much you weigh or your body after pregnancy. People are going to pick me apart no matter what I do. I'm always going to have critics."

We're happy she's feeling confidence and healthy! Now excuse us while we return our attention to our ice cream…
