Update (December 3, 2013):
It's officially Splitsville for Malin Akerman and her husband of six years, Roberto Zincone. Despite the rumors it's not Malin who did the filing! Roberto reportedly submitted the necessary paperwork the day before Thanksgiving. Ouch.
Original story (November 25, 2013):
If a new report is a true, Malin Akerman is no longer Roberto Zincone's Trophy Wife.
The Swedish-Canadian star of the new ABC sitcom has split with Roberto, claims Daily Mail — touting that the two have "split amicably" and are "trying to do what's best for their son."
The aforementioned progeny is baby boy Sebastian Zincone, born April 16, 2013. Mama Malin and Daddy Roberto married in Italy six years earlier — on June 20, 2007.
A source tells the newspaper that Malin and Roberto are living separately but not ready to divorce yet, saying, "Honestly, Malin is not even ready to discuss it. It's a very sad time for her."
Malin and Roberto were once bandmates in the alt-rock band The Petalstones, but Malin stopped singing for the group when her acting career took off — thanks to her roles in Watchmen, 27 Dresses, The Proposal, and Rock of Ages.
Professionally, Malin has had a busy year, even discounting Trophy Wife. She co-starred with John Cusack in The Numbers Station and played Blondie singer Debbie Harry in CBGB.
Here's hoping that she and Roberto work things out…or move on with a minimum of drama!
