This is definitely not Keri Russell’s best week ever. Just one day after suffering a home invasion/burglary at her New York brownstone, the star of The Americans announced via her rep that she and husband Shane Deary have separated. The two have been married seven years and have two children together.

While it’s definitely sad news, it turns out this isn’t a new development for the couple. “They have been separated since early summer,” Keri’s rep told People. “The separation is amicable and [Keri and Shane’s] focus is on their children.”

Keri met Shane, a carpenter, through mutual friends. The couple became engaged in 2006 and married on Valentine’s Day in 2007. Their six-year-old son, River, was born a few months later. The couple’s daughter, Willa, made her way into the world in 2011 and will turn two on December 27..

Currently finishing up filming for Season 2 of The Americans, it sounds like Keri is keeping busy during this difficult time. The former Felicity star also recently wrapped filing on sci-fi thriller Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which is slated to hit theaters July 2014.

Wishing Keri and her family all the best!
