UPDATE (7/22/2014): A judge ruled in favor of Sherri keeping primary physical custody of her 9-year-old son as of July 22, reports E! Online. Judge Michelle Williams ruled there has been "a material change in circumstances" since Sherri's ex, Jeff Tarpley, initially filed the call for custody.
Sherri's still facing a custody battle concerning her unborn child via surrogate with soon-to-be ex-husband Lamar Sally.
UPDATE (7/5/2014): The drama between Sherri Shepherd and estranged hubby Lamar Sally continues. The couple's surrogate is due to give birth to their child next month, but TMZ cites a source who claims that the child was conceived with Lamar's sperm but not with Sherri's egg.
According to sources, Sherri believes Lamar tricked her into signing off on the surrogate pregnancy, knowing full well that he would be divorcing her and would be able to get massive child-support payments from her. Sherri reportedly does not want custody of or to be considered a parent of the unborn child.
Original story (6/11/2014): Talking about the failings of one's personal life is hard for anybody, but Sherri Shepherd is bravely discussing the end of her three-year marriage to TV writer Lamar Sally.
In case you missed it, Lamar filed for legal separation on May 2, and Sherri filed for divorce on May 12. At stake is the couple's unborn baby, coming this year via surrogate. (The View co-host also has a nine-year-old son, Jeffrey, with ex-husband Jeff Tarpley.)
"I know that you cannot grow without pain," Sherri tells E! Online. "Growth is hard, and growth is a struggle, and it hurts, and you've got to go through that in order to grow or you stay the same … I feel as long as you can get up and look up, you have another chance and another chance to make things right. Again, going through all my craziness, I hope that my character and my integrity speaks for me, so I stand behind that."
E! also reports that Sherri is still hoping for a happily-ever-after: "I may not be the best person to ask at this time about a guy, but check back with me in a year about that subject!"
