Just a day after Us Weekly reported Ciara called off her engagement to rapper Future, the “I’m Out” songstress is firing back at the magazine for a not-so-truthful report. So what did Us Weekly say to get Ciara in such a tizzy?
Well guys, the magazine ran an article in which the headline claims CiCi spoke exclusively with them about being “very happy” post-split from Future and the new mom was not pleased.
“@UsWeekly I did not do this interview with you! This is a lie, and tasteless! Must you be that thirsty to create a story?! Unbelievable,” she tweeted (and later deleted). But Ciara didn’t stop there. She further clarified what she actually said in the interview and accused the magazine of being sensationalists.
“Be CLEAR @Usweekly. I interviewed with your Beauty Editor about Degree & Mtv HOS. U manipulated my words & took the interview for sensation,” she tweeted, asserting her first thought by saying, “As I Said, Thirsty!!” She has not deleted this tweet as of this writing.
The magazine does explain in the first paragraph of the article that Ciara’s interview was done days before they broke the news of her split; however, the title — “Ciara Talks About Motherhood and Life After Future Split: I'm Focused, "Very Happy" — doesn’t mention that little tid-bit.
And while CiCi called out Us Weekly for “manipulating” her interview, we did notice that she
shied away from discussing whether or not she and Future had indeed split.
