After Paul Walker's sudden and tragic death on November 30 at just 40 years old, condolences have come rolling in from everybody from Olivia Wilde to co-star Ludacris. Tyrese Gibson even took a memento from site of the fiery crash that ended Paul's life. But Vin Diesel, the second face of the Fast and the Furious franchise, had stayed mum on Paul's death, save reports of him being "inconsolable," until tonight.
Vin took to Facebook to mourn for the death of his friend, posting a photo of the two laughing together with a heartfelt caption. He began with a quote from poet Thomas Campbell: "To live in the hearts we leave behind, is not to die." He then continued with his own words.
Pablo, I wish you could see the world right now... and the profound impact, your full life has had on it, on Us... on me...
I will always love you Brian, as the brother you were... on and off screen.
"Brian" presumably refers to Paul's character in the Fast and the Furious franchise, Brian O'Conner.
Before posting his message to Paul, Vin updated his Facebook cover photo to a picture of him, Paul, and co-stars Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez accepting their MTV Movie Award for Fast and the Furious 4 in 2009.
The story of Paul's death keeps getting sadder, but it sounds like Vin is focusing on the good memories the pair had together. It's certainly a beautiful tribute to a longtime friend.
