Can you believe it’s already been five years since we lost Heath Ledger? Neither can we. For the late actor’s ex Michelle Williams, it must feel like just yesterday, which is why we’re sure she’s feeling particularly affected by her former co-star Philip Seymour Hoffman’s tragic death earlier this week. So much so, that the actress stopped by Phil’s former partner Mimi O’Donnell’s home this week.

Michelle was snapped visiting costume designer Mimi at her home on February 5. It was clearly an important trip for the 33-year-old to make, as she braved NYC’s continuing polar vortex to stop by and pay her respects.

Phil and Heath experienced similar untimely ends, with both overdosing on drugs in their NYC apartments, after years of struggling with their addictions. And just like the media frenzy around PSH’s home in the West Village earlier this week, Heath’s home was bombarded by the press following his death in 2009.

Not only can Michelle relate with Mimi’s loss of her former partner — the two both shared children with their now-gone exes — but she was also a friend and former co-star of the actor. The two shared the screen in the 2008 indie Synecdoche, New York.

Philip, who was only 48 years old at the time of his death last weekend, is survived by Mimi and their three children: Cooper, 10, Tallulah, 7, and Willa, 5. His life will be honored in a private service in NYC, as well as a larger public service later this month.

Our thoughts go out to Philip’s family in this difficult time.
