Update (April 4, 2014):
We heard filming had resumed on Fast & Furious last month and now we have details on how the late Paul Walker will be included in the movie franchise that helped make him famous. The New York Daily News reports Paul’s character, Brian O'Conner, will appear using body doubles and CGI. This remains unconfirmed by Universal Pictures.
Original story (March 13, 2014):
Paul Walker’s tragic death in a car accident feels like it just happened yesterday but, believe it or not, it’s been almost four months since the shocking news broke on November 30. Hard to process, right?
After taking a break to mourn the loss of their beloved Fast & Furious brother, cast and crew are returning to filming this week on the the movie franchise Paul helped make famous.
We’ve already spotted an on-set snapshot courtesy of actor Tyrese, who plays F&F character Roman Pearce, of him back in Dubai where part of the movie is being filmed. Even more telling is a March 18 tweet from account Everything Georgia announcing several major street closures in Atlanta connected to the film.
Resuming production this week means Fast & Furious is actually gearing up again earlier than expected. Previously, Universal Pictures announced a March 31 start date in Atlanta, reports E! News. While there are no new details on how Paul’s character Brian O’Conner will appear in the movie, E! insists “he will be in the film.” Fans, however, remain torn over how best to say goodbye to the beloved character.
We’ll see what director James Wan and his crew decided when Fast & Furious 7 debuts next year.
