Jennifer Love Hewitt is pregnant and oozing happiness these days, and we couldn’t be more thrilled for her. In fact, the Client List star threw a baby shower on Saturday planned by famed event planner Mindy Weiss, and it sounded amazing.
A source tells E! News that 25 women joined the actress for a luncheon at the Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles. The decor flew in the face of convention and, instead of blue or pink, the room was decorated in black, yellow, and white, with yellow flowers from Mark’s Garden.
Most guests chose yellow or green for wrapping paper, as Jennifer and fiance Brian Hallisay have decided to wait to find out the gender of their baby. As she told E! back in August, "It's one of life's last great surprises and I want to be surprised.”
We love that, and couldn’t agree more!
Weiss posted a few shots of the shower on her Instagram, including a milk bar for the guests and super duper cute baby-faced cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcakes. Hallisay reportedly came to pick up his fiance at the end of the shower.
Sadly, Hewitt lost her own mother last year from complications from cancer. She told E! in August that she’s trying to see the good in the situation.
"I really feel like, while it's been the most devastating blow to my heart and my spirit, something about this baby has been a gift from her," she said. "It has somehow been able to replace incredible grief with incredible joy. I'm very, very, very grateful for that. As every day approaches, I ask myself a lot why is she not here for this? Am I going to get through it without her? But I know she's out there and she's watching me and helping me and I'm going to be the best mother possible in her honor."
The actress recently told People about her thrill for what she considers to be a dream job, saying, “I've always wanted to be a mom. I had a great relationship with mine. I'm ready to pass on to my child all the great love that my mom had for me."
It looks like the couple will be getting a bouncing baby for the holidays this year, as their wee one is due in December.
