The love between a mother and child is one of life’s most precious gifts. Tia Mowry-Hardrict has been telling her son, Cree, that she loves him since the moment he was born. Now, the former Sister, Sister star tells People that her son just said “I love you” back for the first time.

“I gasped when he said it because I’m always saying, ‘I love you, Cree! I love you, Cree!’” Tia says of her 2-year-old son. “I’m not expecting to hear anything back, and he goes, ‘I love you.’ And I was like, ‘Aww!’”

Tia says it all went down one morning when she, Cree, and her hubby Cory Hardrict were snuggling in bed together. “We were playing Angry Birds on my iPhone — because he loves that game first thing in the morning — I lean over to him, I give him a kiss on the cheek, and I say, ‘I love you, Cree,’ and he reciprocated and said, ‘I love you.’”

The 35-year-old actress, who currently stars on Nickelodeon’s Instant Mom, says she then just “started bawling.” Those three little words got her overcome with emotion. “I was just floored and my husband was looking at me like, ‘Oh my God, Tia.’”

Hey Cory, it was a big moment, okay? This is the first time Tia’s heard her only baby tell her he loves her. We’re pretty sure she’s allowed to get a bit emotional if she wants!
