This just in: MSNBC star Melissa Harris-Perry and her husband, James Perry, have just welcomed a newborn baby girl! Congrats to the happy family!
Valentine's Day was extra special this year for the couple, as Melissa, 40, gave birth to their first child on February 14, according to People.
Melissa took to Twitter to announce the happy news. "Best Valentine Ever! [James] and I welcomed our daughter yesterday!" Melissa tweets on February 15. She also shared a photo of herself next to the bundle of joy.
James added another pic of the little one on his Twitter page. "Here’s the wonderful Valentine’s day gift that [Melissa] and I received yesterday! A beautiful baby girl," he captions the adorable shot.
Melissa and James got married in October 2010. She has a 12-year-old daughter, Parker, from a previous relationship.
Melissa hosts the weekend news show Melissa Harris-Perry on MSNBC, which began in February 2012, and Melissa is a regular fill-in host for the Rachel Maddow Show. She was involved in controversy at the end of 2013 when jokes were made on her show about Mitt Romney's adopted black grandson. She later apologized for the incident.
We wish their family all the best!
