Crazy how quickly time can pass! In February 1999, Melanie Brown, aka “Scary Spice,” became the first member of The Spice Girls to trade in girlhood for motherhood. It’s now been 15 years to the day... which means Mel B’s daughter, Phoenix, is practically all grown up.

On February 18, the celebrity teen stepped out in Beverly Hills to attend a special birthday dinner with her mom at celeb hotspot Mr. Chow. While her British pop star mamma sported skintight black leather pants and sexy heels, Phoenix kept things casual in a white tee, blue plaid shirt, and green pants.

But one look at her pretty brown eyes, and there’s no doubt about it: Phoneix definitely inherited her mother’s good looks.

Mel B, 38, married Phoenix’s father, backup dancer Jimmy Gulzar, back in September 1998. They met during her Spiceworld tour and got engaged after a 10-week whirlwind courtship. Scary Spice was the first of the girls to get married, but also the first to divorce. She and Jimmy split in 2000, when baby Phoenix was about a year old.

Mel has two other daughters: Angel, 6, whose father is Eddie Murphy and Madison, 2, whose father is her husband, Stephen Belafonte. She’s also stepmother to Stephen’s daughter, Giselle, 9.

Can you believe that the oldest of the Spice Girls’s babies is just three years away from being an legal adult? Frankly, we’re finding that pill a bit hard to swallow. Were the ‘90s really that long ago?
