Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard may have only been parents for just under a year, but they’re already taking strides against an issue they feel is important for any celebrity parents: the paparazzi. They’re calling for an end to “pedorazzi,” or photographers who profit from photos of celebrity children.

At first, the recently wed couple were adamant on Twitter about boycotting magazines that publish the photos, and now, they’ve reached their first victory: Entertainment Tonight has agreed not to air photos or videos of children.

So why did they decide to approach the long running Hollywood news show? “Entertainment Tonight has a long history of being classy, and we thought if you guys joined forces with us on this issue, then other outlets would fall in line,” Kristen explained. “If you guys agreed, who wouldn’t?”

“I don’t want strange men violating my child for money,” the 33-year-old Veronica Mars actress said. “Running red lights, honking, screaming stuff out the window — it’s a James Bond movie where you’re actually being hunted. It’s not okay when there’s kids around.”

Kristen’s totally right — putting anyone in that kind of danger is needless, but when kids are involved, it’s even worse.

Dax and Kristen already have the support of several of their fellow celeb parents and friends. Stars like Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Michelle Williams, and Katie Holmes have already signed on to support their initiative — which means they will all refuse to give interviews to outlets who continue to air or publish photos of celebrity children that have been purchased from paparazzi.

“For me, it’s really reaching out to other moms who do the shopping at the grocery store, or dads who do it, because that’s a huge place where the print outlets buy and pay those paparazzi, who essentially harass the kids,” Kristen said. “If I found out something I had been purchasing and supporting that I enjoyed caused children harm, I would stop.”
