Joe Nichols is a father again! He and his wife, Heather, welcomed their newest baby girl, Georgia Blue, who arrived safe and sound into the world on May 20. The proud papa couldn’t help but share the happy news to his bevy of fans on Twitter (we were hoping for a solid “Yeah,” but we’ll take what we can get!).
“It’s official! At 8:06 a.m. we were blessed with our brand new baby girl, Georgia Nichols,” Joe shared on Twitter. “At 7 lbs., 4 oz., [she] and mom are doing great.” According to People, the latest Nichols measures in at 19.5 inches, and has a pair of sweet brown eyes and a head full of brown hair. We can’t wait to see the little bundle of joy!
The couple announced they were expecting another little girl this past April with the “Brokenheartsville” singer saying, “I’m so outnumbered — I am toast!” The singer and his wife also have a 2-year-old daughter, Dylan, while Joe has another daughter, 15-year-old Ashelyn, from a previous relationship.
May 20th is an especially joyous day given the hardships the couple endured in order to conceive a child. According to Joe, baby Georgia is a “second miracle” for the couple who went through five miscarriages just before having Dylan in 2012.
“Heather had to go through all that again — the appointments and treatments — but she is feeling great, getting big, and the baby is moving like crazy,” the proud papa said.
We’re so happy to hear that Georgia and her momma are doing just fine. Congratulations to the family!
