Sister Sister alum Tia Mowry-Hardrict has made it no secret that she lives a life of clean eating and it looks like her really great dietary habits have been passed down to her almost 3-year-old son, Cree, who enjoys eating what most kids dread — vegetables. Oh, and not just the nice sweet kinds that kids like, like carrots, but the big, scary green ones like spinach and broccoli!

“Recently at one of our favorite restaurants in L.A., I ordered spinach for [him] and there was a mother staring us down, looking at [us] to see if he was really going to eat it!” Tia revealed to People. “But he loves it! He loves spinach, broccoli, quinoa … and he loved pureed organic carrots when he was a baby. It’s all about instilling healthy habits now, so when he gets older, he’ll continue.”

Tia wasn’t always this keen on eating clean. Shortly after getting married back in 2008, Tia decided to adopt healthier habits when her gynecologist suggested she change her diet in order to reduce her risk of endometriosis and increase her chances of getting pregnant. And it worked!

“From then on, I knew the power of food,” the Instant Mom actress shared, who then scoured the internet for information about how additives, steroids, gluten and processed sugar can affect the body. “I knew how food can be medicine. That’s when my whole journey began with eating organically and extremely healthy.”

After that, Tia, her husband, Corey, and their little boy have embarked on this new dietary lifestyle and of course, there are those who tease her for it.

“My mom and dad will look at me and my husband, and they’re like ‘I feel so sorry for this child! He’s not eating fish sticks and pizza!’ I’m like, ‘We try to give it to him, but he doesn’t wanna eat it!’” she laughed, adding, “I’m not one of those parents who says he can never have a cookie, but I’m all about balance. I’m trying to instill in him healthy choices.”

Most parents have to fight their kids to eat vegetables, but it appears Tia’s got this one in the bag!
