If there is one thing we absolutely love about Beyoncè and Jay Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy, it’s her curly tresses. Sure, we’re obsessed with her wardrobe and that hefty passport of hers, but we just melt when we see those curls.
Yet shockingly enough, others find Blue’s natural locks a bit offensive. In fact, a petition was recently created on Change.org, urging that Blue’s parents — wait for it — comb her hair. Jasmine Toliver created it after Blue was recent spotted with her hair close to fro-status (something we wish we could achieve).
At the time of this post, the petition already garnered over 2,000 signatures, and counting. Jasmine eloquently wrote the following in order to urge Blue’s parents to care for those curly tresses.
“As a woman who understands the importance of hair care. It's disturbing to watch a child suffering from the lack of hair moisture,” she writes. “The parents of Blue Ivy. Sean Carter A.K.A Jay-Z and Beyoncé has failed at numerous attempts of doing Blue Ivy Hair. This matter has escalated to the child developing matted dreads and lint balls. Please let's get the word out to properly care for Blue Ivy hair.
Fellow petitioners commented on the Change.org page, and even agreed with Jasmine. One user wrote, “I hate when a mother looks like a million dollars with their hair all done and the child looks like they haven't seen a comb since they were born.”
We’re not sure what’s more offensive here; the fact that a 2-year-old’s hair has been described as “matted dreads and lint balls,” or that this petition has been signed by so many people. Despite what haters are saying, we think Blue’s curly hair looks adorable no matter what.
