There are a million reasons why we love Olivia Wilde with her latest Glamour photo spread being the latest addition to the list. The 30-year-old new mom is featured in the magazine draped in a Roberto Cavalli dress all while breastfeeding her 5-month-old son, Otis. That’s right. Olivia’s son made his magazine editorial debut in the best way he knows how: by getting his feeding on.
“Being shot with Otis is so perfect because any portrait of me right now isn’t complete without my identity as a mother being a part of that,” Olivia explains to the magazine. “Breastfeeding is the most natural thing … it feels like Otis should always be on my breast.”
Olivia adds, “It felt like we were capturing that multifaceted woman we’ve been discussing — that we know we can be. You can be someone who is at once maternal and professional and sexy and self-possessed … I certainly don’t really look like that when I’m [typically] breastfeeding. And there’s usually a diaper involved.”
Olivia welcomed her first child with fiancé Jason Sudeikis this past April, and since then, she has been balancing work with raising an infant. How? She praises her own mama for being a living example.
“My mom is such a badass working mother. That inspired me when I was pregnant,” Olivia says. “I wasn’t going to sacrifice myself because I was becoming a mother.”
Now that baby Otis is finally here, it seems like the only thing Olivia and Jason have left to do is finally say “I do,” right? Not so fast! These two aren’t rushing anything; in fact, they don’t even have a wedding date picked out.
“We’re engaged, but no specific plans yet — we just have to find the time to put it together. In many ways, a child is more of a commitment,” Olivia reveals.
“We are fully committed and really happy as a family. And there’s no definition of the ‘normal family’ anymore … I guess what I’m saying is that I don’t feel any pressure to do it. But I think it will be really fun.”
You know what would be fun? If little Otis was their ring bearer for the big day. Just an idea!
