One of the reasons we’re still fangirling over Sister, Sister more than a decade after its finale in May 1999 is because Tia and Tamera Mowry continue to be as sassy now as they were in the '90s. In fact, if anything, motherhood has made these twin stars even more inclined to real talk and we love it!
This week, Tamera, who gave birth to son Aden in November 2012, debuted her post-pregnancy body in the pages of Us Weekly (as you do) and she spilled the beans on how she’s looking so fab after baby. By cutting 500 calories from her daily 1,700-calorie breastfeeding diet and hitting the gym five days a week, 5-foot-5 Tamera got down to her current 127-pound weight.
It wasn’t easy though. In fact, she thinks losing the baby weight was even harder than having the baby!
“It took a year, year and a half, to get my baby weight off,” the 35-year-old tells HipHollywood. “Seriously, those last five, 10 pounds are going to be the hardest thing you’ve ever had to do. Harder than, I think, having a baby.”
T’s quick to add that she had a C-section, not that we think that’s all that easier a road when it comes to labor and delivery. “Don’t be hard on yourself,” she adds of getting back to your pre-pregnancy size. “It will eventually happen.”
Watch the video above to hear what Tamera has to say about “shocking the body” into losing those final few pounds, and then head below to tell us what you make of her advice.
