Roger Federer may have had a rough year out on the courts, but the score is definitely love-love between the famed Swiss tennis player and wife Mirka. On Christmas Eve, Roger took to Twitter to share news that he and his wife are expecting baby No. 3!
“Mirka and I are very happy to share the news that Myla & Charlene will be big sisters in 2014! Happy Holidays,” the proud papa tweeted, referencing he and Mirka’s twins Charlene Riva and Myla Rose — who are already three years old.
Roger and Mirka tied the knot back in 2009, back when the 32-year-old was beginning to dominate the tennis world. Since then, the all-star player has proven to be one of the best players in history, garnering 17 Grand Slam titles. Only Pete Sampras (who has 14 titles) and Rafael Nadal (who has 13) come close to Roger’s winning track record.
2013 hasn’t been a stellar year for Roger. Not only is he walking away with no Grand Slam titles, this is the first year he hasn’t even made it to the finals of a Grand Slam tournament since 2002. But hey, at least he has a beautiful and ever-growing family waiting for him at home.
Roger has proven that he is an ace parent, and we’re sure he and Mirka are going to enjoy their new bundle of joy when he or she arrives next year. Congrats, you guys!
