Good Morning America's Robin Roberts has been through a lot of changes in the past few years, but not on the personal front. According to People, she's been dating licensed massage therapist Amber Laign for the past 10 years.
The relationship wasn't a secret to those closest to Robin, but she publicly acknowledged Amber as her girlfriend for the first time in a December 29 Facebook post listing her many blessings
"At this moment I am at peace and filled with joy and gratitude,” she wrote in part of the message. “I am grateful to God, my doctors and nurses for my restored good health. I am grateful for my sister, Sally-Ann, for being my donor and giving me the gift of life. I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together. I am grateful for the many prayers and well wishes for my recovery. I return every one of them to you 100 fold. On this last Sunday of 2013 I encourage you to reflect on what you are grateful for too."
We're definitely grateful Robin is in good health. She's been through a lot.
In 2007, she revealed she had breast cancer. In June 2012, she announced on GMA that she had myelodysplastic syndrome and would have a bone marrow transplant. She started her extended medical leave on August 30, 2012, and in early October she went home from the hospital. She returned to GMA in February 2013.
Here’s to a happy, healthy 2014 for all of us!
