Unlike Taylor Swift, Jake Gyllenhaal isn't singing "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" — at least, not to model Alyssa Miller.
According to Us Weekly, actor Jake and Alyssa are back on, just a month after it was revealed that they had split up. They had reportedly "fizzled out" before the holidays, after about six months of dating, starting in June.
It sounds like the reunion may be a case of absence making Jakey's heart grow fonder. An insider told Us they were still talking during their "break" and when Jake was done filming Nightcrawler "he was spending a lot of time by himself and with his family over the holidays and he missed her."
Aww. We'll see if that feeling can last, since the insider added that it's been less than two weeks since they got back together so it's "new again." (Some couples struggle once the relationship stops being “new” so maybe a break-up-make-up pattern is a way to keep the spark alive.)
Distance is the big killer for many Hollywood relationships because the stars go off to shoot movies for months at a time. When Jake, 33, and Alyssa, 24, broke up before, a source said the distance "just really got to them." So we'll have to see what happens if they are tested again by more distance — or just by Jake's less-than-stellar history with long-term relationships.
Are you happy to see these two reunited? Do you think it will last, now that they know they miss each other when they’re apart?
