Courteney Cox traded in the sun-baked hills of California for the emerald-green valleys of Northern Ireland as she accompanied new fiancé Johnny McDaid to his hometown of Derry last week, as People reports — and the lovebirds got rings on the vacay!

Courtney and Johnny were in town to celebrate his 38th birthday on July 24 — and to attend a family christening.

Erin Kearney, a shop assistant at the Derry's D.Cooley Jewellers, tells People that the celebs' visit left the town starstruck: "I couldn't believe it was them. I mean, nobody famous ever comes to Derry."

And Erin gave the couple a pair of precious souvenirs: locally-made rings.

"I don't think they will use them as wedding bands, but they seemed to be delighted with them," she says. "Courteney said she loved Derry and couldn't wait to return."

We all know Courteney from Friends and Cougar Town, but you might be less familiar with her soon-to-be hubby — though you've likely heard his work before! Johnny is a member of the band Snow Patrol. He and Courteney were first spotted together in December and became engaged in June.

Maybe the next time they visit Derry, they'll do so as Mr. and Mrs. McDaid!
