As it turns out, there's a common mistake among Hollywood couples that is pretty much guaranteed to doom a relationship: starring in a music video together. ET dug into their vault for their Uncovers series, and made a compelling case! This doesn't look good for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West — after all, Kim starred in his "Bound 2" video back in November.
We're not sure it means the same thing for couples that actually do songs together — for example, multiple music videos seem to be just fine for Beyonce and Jay Z. But we all know how Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova worked out, although they split a decade after the video for Enrique's "Escape" was released.
Here are some of ET's other examples. Check them out in the video above — along with some theories about why this phenomenon exists.
Ben Affleck in Jennifer Lopez's "Jenny From the Block" video. Ben looked pretty stoked touching J.Lo's famous butt in her video for "Jenny From the Block," but ultimately, the pair split just four days before their wedding date.
Nick Lachey in Jessica Simpson's "Sweetest Sin" video. After three years of marriage — and some reality stardom thrown in — Nick and Jessica got divorced.
Sean Penn in Madonna's "Live to Tell" video. In an early example of this phenomenon, Sean appeared in Madonna's 1986 "Live to Tell" video. The pair divorced in 1989.
Lisa Marie Presley in Michael Jackson's "You Are Not Alone" video. Lisa Marie and Michael showed off their relationship while gettin' steamy in a temple in the 1995 video, but filed for divorce the very next year.
