Dolly Parton, 67, is counting down the days until her 50th — 50th! — wedding anniversary. Granted, it's not until 2016, but it's still a huge milestone.
The legendary country singer and her husband Carl Dean got married May 30, 1966 in Georgia, when Dolly was just 20 years old. They have no children together, but they still have a lot of love.
Dolly told Closer magazine she and Carl have talked about maybe doing "another big wedding" for their 50th celebration. She said it would probably take place close to home, where they have friends and family, and may be held "at our big old plantation home. We love it there.”
In 2011, Dolly talked to the Toronto Sun about Carl, a paving contractor she met at a laundromat on her first day in Nashville. Two years ago, they celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary up at their lake house. “We’re really proud of our marriage," she said. "It’s the first for both of us. And the last.”
Love it! Congrats to them — they're setting a high bar for marriage (especially when you get hitched so young), but it can be done.
