Kate Hudson fans hoping to see the 34-year-old actress in a wedding dress may have to content themselves with her movie Bride Wars — she says she has no immediate plans to marry her fiancé, Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy.
The couple has been engaged for nearly three years — Matt popped the question in April 2011 — but Kate tells Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan that she is enjoying being happily engaged.
"I'm planning nothing right now," she tells the talk show hosts on the January 28 episode of Live With Kelly and Michael. "I'm so busy. We've been so busy, and it's been great. I come from an unconventional family … My parents [mother Goldie Hawn and stepfather Kurt Russell] aren't married."
And, as Kate explains, she's a bit overwhelmed by the workload: "There's a part of me that goes, if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right. I'm going to take the time to really plan it right, and it's a lot. Planning a wedding is a lot!"
And — yes, indeed — she references Bride Wars: "I mean, I did a movie about planning a wedding, and that was a lot — let alone actually planning a wedding! So, no. Not anytime soon, no."
Hey, we're fine with engaged folk taking their time! We'll just wait and see if Matthew and Kate one-up The Five-Year Engagement.
