This is shaping up to be an excellent year for Saturday Night Live's John Mulaney. Fox picked up his forthcoming sitcom Mulaney for ten additional episodes in May, and now he is a married man!
John, a 31-year-old writer and stand-up comic, got hitched to makeup artist and hairstylist Annemarie Tendler on July 5 at the Onteora Mountain House in Boiceville, NY, according to Us Weekly. Instead of gifts, the couple asked guests to donate to the Innocence Project, which assists wrongfully convicted people via DNA testing.
John used to write for SNL and has appeared on the show in small roles, with his claim to fame being that he co-created the beloved character Stefon with Bill Hader. So it's perhaps no surprise that numerous SNL faces attended his nuptials, including Amy Poehler and boyfriend Nick Kroll, Seth Meyers, and Nasim Pedrad. Nasim co-stars on Mulaney, as does Martin Short.
The newlyweds met years ago on a group trip to Martha's Vineyard, and they bonded during the drive home. "He did bits the whole ride and killed," reads their wedding site. "They were not dating at the time, but Anna knew they would be soon after." Aww!
Congrats to the happy couple!
