Ashton Kutcher and girlfriend Mila Kunis were spotted during a trip to Israel on Wednesday, September 18, but this wasn’t a light-hearted vacation. Instead, the A-list couple were attending the funeral of Kabbalah Chief Rabbi Philip Berg.

E! News reports the couple wore white in accordance with a ceremonial tradition, and Ashton donned a baseball cap to cover his head during the outdoor ceremony. The pair joined a large group of mourners in the ancient northern town of Safed to celebrate Rav Berg’s life.

During part of the service, Mila appeared to be crying, at which point “Ashton comforted her by hugging and wrapping his arms around her,” reports E! News. We’re glad to hear he was there to help Mila through such a difficult time.

Rav Berg founded the Kabbalah Center in Los Angeles, a popular spot for Ashton and his ex-wife Demi Moore as well as celebrities Britney Spears and Madonna. He died Monday, September 16, at age 86.

Former co-stars on That ‘70s Show, 35-year-old Ashton and 30-year-old Mila reportedly started dating in April 2012. The recent appearance of a ring on Mila’s left hand led to a flurry of rumors the two planned to tie the knot. But as much as we’d like to see Mila wear white for a happier occasion, nuptial plans are reportedly still far down the line.
