Justin Timberlake shed his super-slick persona and got dweeby in a sketch last night, Sept. 17, on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon — part of the show's month-long "Timberlake Tuesdays" series.
Introducing the riotous skit, Jimmy reminisces about a magical summer at Camp Winnipesaukee, and the action cuts to a camp cabin circa 1995. Jimmy wears a curly wig to look like an awkward teenage version of himself. He whispers to his bunkmate — in a pubescent voice, of course — to ask if the kid is asleep.
The other camper wakes up and turns around, and it's an equally curly-haired and equally nasally Justin Timberlake.
"Hey, you wanna sing that song we heard on the radio today?" Jimmy asks.
"Oh, you mean 'I Only Wanna Be With You' by Hootie and His Blowfish?" Justin replies. "Yes! I love that song."
The two then harmonize perfectly on a version of the song — which, not to play down the humor, is actually "Only Wanna Be With You" by Hootie and the Blowfish.
Their ambiguously-pedophiliac camp counselor busts them for being up past lights-out, but the two can't hold back the song in their hearts.
As they bring the song to a close, Justin says, "Hey, Jimmy … Best friends forever."
