UPDATE (October 3, 2013): Alanis has responded to her fans' outpouring of love regarding the lawsuit on Twitter, telling followers, "grateful for all your heartfelt support around these hurtful and cruel allegations. truthfulness will prevail. i love you, x a."
A new lawsuit is going to be a bitter pill to swallow for one music star.
We hate to bug you in the middle of dinner with this, but '90s music phenom Alanis Morissette is being sued by her former nanny, Bianca Cambeiro, according to Radar Online.
Bianca, who worked as a nanny for 39-year-old singer Alanis and husband Mario Treadway from 2011 until March 2013, is alleging that she wasn't paid overtime or given proper rest breaks. Nothing ironic about that.
Bianca was the couple's night nurse for their son Ever, who was born in 2010. Bianca says she worked from 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m., three to four days a week, getting paid $25 an hour but without overtime.
She says she wasn't given rest breaks or meal breaks, and she says she worked seven days in a row on several occasions while Alanis was on tour. It is unclear whether she quit or was fired in March 2013.
And just how much is Bianca looking for? The lawsuit says she seeks $100,000 in damages and $30,000 in unpaid wages. So Alanis may have one hand in her pocket, but the other one might be writing an awfully large check soon.
In case the '90s was one big blur for you, we thought you oughta know that Alanis's debut 1995 album, Jagged Little Pill, was the best-selling album of the '90s, going a whopping 16-times platinum in the U.S. alone.
Long story short: We wonder what Full House star Dave Coulier thinks of all this.
