Joe Jonas is burnin' up about what a certain up-and-coming singer has said.

The Jonas Brothers star has taken to Twitter to call Lorde out for criticizing Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift.

Last week, 16-year-old singer Lorde stirred up controversy when she talked a little smack about SelGo in a Rolling Stone interview. “I love pop music on a sonic level,” Lorde said. “But I’m a feminist, and the theme of [Selena Gomez’s] song [“Come & Get It”] is, ‘When you’re ready, come and get it from me.’ I’m sick of women being portrayed this way."

And in the October issue of New Zealand magazine Metro, Lorde isn't too kind to Taylor Swift either, saying the country star is "too flawless and unattainable." Uh, we think that's supposed to be an insult, right?

Now, Joe is fighting back on Selena and Taylor's behalf. On October 4, Joe tweeted: "Hey @lordemusic you say call me Queen B but you shouldn't be attacking all the true Queen Bitches's #respect."

Whoa! Joe is taking the beef to a new level. And we admire him for standing up for the singers, although we're not entirely sure if they will appreciate being called "bitches" by him.

Joe's tweet is notable because he has never been on particularly good terms with Taylor Swift, following their phone-call break-up a few years back. So it's nice to see him defending her.

Also, while Joe is apparently referring to Lorde's song "Royals," in which she says she's the "queen bee," we think he might be misinterpreting the lyrics a bit, as the song is satirizing those who think they're above other people.

However, Lorde herself had since been apologizing for her remarks about Selena and Taylor, saying that she's still adjusting to speaking to the media.

So do you think Joe was in the right for calling Lorde out? Or should he crave a different kind of buzz?
