Are the Jonas Brothers in straits more dire than we thought? We're trying not to jump to conclusions after TMZ videotaped Joe Jonas heading into a recording studio in West Hollywood with addiction specialist Mike Bayer in tow.
This news, bear in mind, comes only two days after the Jonas Brothers announced that they were canceling their 19-date tour of the U.S. and Canada, their rep citing a "big disagreement over their music direction" and asserting that there is "a deep rift within the band."
Mike Bayer, as TMZ notes, is the CEO and founder of Cast Recovery Services. His bio on the company's official website describes him is "an addiction specialist, crisis consultant, and interventionist with over 10 years of experience working in the addiction and mental health field."
Mike previously worked with Demi Lovato to overcome her eating disorder after she checked into rehab in October 2010. (Coincidentally — or not — Demi and Joe dated earlier that year.)
The Jonas Brothers were scheduled to released their fifth studio album, V, this fall. Indeed, the fact that Joe was walking into a recording studio would imply that he was working on V, but who knows when or if the record will be released.
Do you think Joe or one of the other brothers is trying to overcome an addiction or mental health issue? Or do you think that there's another reason why he'd be hanging out with Mike? Let us know your thoughts below.
