Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are getting back into the reality show game — or at least that’s what they’d like fans to believe.

The former Hills stars and current gun-loving, plastic surgery enthusiasts are trying to make their way back onto society’s radar with a new project, creatively titled SpeidiShow.

While the couple has been tweeting about the so-called “show” for a while now, In Touch sat down with the couple on Monday and tried to get inside the the labyrinthine inner workings of their minds and clarifying what the pair has been working on.

On the surface, it seems as though the couple is trying to create a web series, although both parties insist that’s not exactly the case.

“The future of reality entertainment is not on TV—it’s on social media,” Spencer says. “Netprov takes social media and turns it into Second City.”

So what is netprov, you ask? It’s like regular tweeting, but in service of a bizarre, fake goal, apparently.

Despite the fact that there is no actual show to speak of, Heidi and Spencer insist that the fans’ reactions to the show is what creates the show, in some kind of bizarre, self-perpetuating ultra-meta nonsense-creation factory.

Spencer says that he hopes fans will “play with the characters of Spencer and Heidi, like Speidi action figures,” adding, “Of course, we could use Twitter just like everyone else, say a bunch of obnoxious things—been there, done that. It’s time to shake things up a bit.”

Heidi concurs.

“It’s not a prank. It’s a game,” she says.  “We hope our fans will play with us.”
