Update (October 30, 2013): Everyone can put down their pitchforks. George Clooney says that Amal Alamuddin is just a friend with whom he and four other people had dinner — and that the reports of other two rumored dates, Katie Holmes and Monika Jakisic, are also greatly exaggerated. "Three different stories in three weeks. I should be an athlete," he tells People. "But, no of course, it's all made up."

Adds his rep, "He never comments on his private life, but in the interest of stopping the harassment of all three of these women, he felt he should."

Original story (October 28, 2013):

Who is Amal Amaddin? And how do we take her place on the arm of George Clooney?

These are all pressing questions we have after glimpsing photos of the elegant woman parading through London alongside the 52-year-old stud on October 24 — having had dinner that night at Berners Tavern.

Luckily for us, E! News has answers.

Amal is a barrister — i.e. a British lawyer — and one who topped a recent list of the 21 Hottest Barristers in London.

And she is quite the worldly woman, as she's fluent in English, French, and Arabic. She specializes in international law and human rights, and she's busy representing Julian Assange, the WikiLeaks founder currently profiled in the film The Fifth Estate.

Sounds like the lucky lady has more than a little subject matter for conversation. It's no wonder their dinner at Berners lasted four hours.

George's love life is one of the most tabloid-friendly, as he's had a series of high-profile love connections. His last relationship, with model and actress Stacy Keibler, was one of our favorites before it fizzed this summer.

Based on her interesting work, though, we're not opposed to George dating Ms. Alamuddin — aside from the occasional pang of jealousy, of course!

Are you equally beguiled with Amal? Or do you 'ship someone else with George? Let us know below!
