Can you imagine making $150,000 a second? There are worse fates.
According to the New York Post's Page Six, Matt Damon earned that amount , totalling $3 million, to appear in a Nespresso ad for about 20 seconds. How do you like them apples?
He's in the ad with his buddy George Clooney, who has been the face of the brand outside the U.S. since 2006. That connection is reportedly what drew Matt to tape the commercial.
“Matt is one of the few Hollywood stars to have turned down most ad and product-endorsement deals," a source said to be close to the deal told Page Six. "But this one came with a huge fee and the fact that he’d be working with people he trusts, his ‘Monuments Men’ producer Grant Heslov and co-star George Clooney.”
It's actually a two-part ad. The first one shows George with a beautiful woman, who tries to distract everyone around them by announcing "George Clooney's inside!" so she can be left alone to drink her Nespresso. In the second, shorter ad, George meets up with Matt and yells "Matt Damon's inside!" so he can be left alone too.
Here's a link to the first ad, and below is the Matt Damon follow-up. You know what, in this video it's only 15 seconds. Maybe there's an official one that's longer, but Matt barely has to sit down here. If he made $3 million for that ... wow. Maybe he donated it to charity?
