Angelina Jolie just wants to fly, but according to Page Six, the Federal Aviation Administration is keeping her on the ground. What’s a girl to do?

The FAA says Angelina didn’t file her plane’s registration on time (which means it’s airworthy enough to fly) after it expired on June 30. The renewal was filed after the due date, but officials said too bad, so sad to Angelina — since the paperwork was late, no such luck.

The plane, a $360,000 red and white Cirrus SR-22 — also known as one of the fastest single-engine planes in the world, no big deal — is the one Angelina actually flies herself.

In other news, Angelina Jolie has her pilot’s license. We were surprised, too! According to Us Weekly, she passed the test in 2004 and has taken flying lessons frequently.

“When Maddox was one and a half, we used to go to the airfield to have lunch and watch the planes,” the Maleficent actress said of her son. “And it dawned on me: I could fly. So I promised him I would fly by his second birthday. It's the only place I'm completely alone -- up in the air, detached from everything. I love that I can just go anywhere, have that freedom.”

Angelina’s penchant for the friendly skies may have landed her in a bit of trouble, though — flight records say the plane was flown in Montana in October, a full four months after its registration expired. Uh-oh!
