Ah, rumors. Where do they come from? The Newsroom creator Aaron Sorkin was apparently surprised to see a new story in RadarOnline claim actress Olivia Munn’s “know it all attitude” was bugging the HBO show’s Emmy-winning star, Jeff Daniels, as well as Aaron himself.
A source told Radar, “Olivia and Aaron’s relationship soured so completely during Season 2 of The Newsroom that it created a poisonous atmosphere on the set. … [B]y the end of the long shoot, Aaron and Jeff were barely speaking to her, and you can expect that in the third season, her role will be greatly diminished.”
Well, that’s news to Aaron. He set the record straight in a statement to E! News. "The story bears no resemblance to reality," Aaron said. "Olivia is a perfect cast member who is loved and respected by the entire cast, by the crew and the producers, by HBO and especially by me."
That’s good to hear. Not sure where that other rumor came from, but if Aaron knocked it down, hopefully it means Olivia’s role as Sloan Sabbith won’t be diminished for Season 3.
Interestingly enough, Olivia was just named to Mike the Fanboy's list of the 10 most fan-friendly celebs. In ranking her at No. 7, Mike wrote, "Last year I got a lot of grief for not including this woman of Magic Mike on the list. I hear it all the time, 'Olivia Munn is the sweetest thing ever!' And when she showed up on three different MTF writer’s surveys, okay… I had to include her!"
