19-year-old diving star Tom Daley is ringing in the New Year as an out-and-proud LGBT icon — and celebrating alongside recently-revealed boyfriend Dustin Lance Black, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Milk and J. Edgar.
The Brit bronze-medalist posted an adorable photo to Instagram on January 4, in which he's seated next to Dustin on a dinner date.
"Splash celebrations :) Beef Wellington… yes please!" he wrote in the caption.
Yep, Splash! in the United Kingdom is just what ABC's Splash is here stateside: a celebrity diving competition. Across the pond, however, Tom serves as the celebs' mentor. The second "series" (aka season) premiered that night on ITV.
And, it would seem, we now know one of Tom's favorite foods: Beef Wellington — a steak coated with pâté and duxelles, wrapped in puff pastry, and baked. Vegetarians need not apply.
In case you missed it, Tom revealed that he was dating a guy on December 2. (Note that he didn't explicitly label himself as gay.) A couple days later, news broke that that lucky fella was Dustin. "Come spring this year, my life changed," Tom gushed in the video. "Massively. When I met someone and it made me feel so happy, so safe, and everything just feels great."
We're loving this power couple — and counting down the minutes until the inevitable Oscar-bait diving biopic!
