Nobody in all of Oz, no wizard that there is or was, is ever gonna bring Amy Adams down!
As TMZ reports, the Golden Globe winner was "Defying Gravity" when she recently hit up a gay karaoke bar in Los Angeles and kept the audience cheering throughout her high-flying rendition of the showstopper from the 2003 musical Wicked.
Sure, she's no Idina Menzel — the Broadway actress who won a Tony for the role and probably this song in particular — but the site reports that the 39-year-old American Hustle star "impressed" the patrons of the bar.
In the Broadway show, a prequel of sorts to The Wizard of Oz, Elphaba (who later becomes The Wicked Witch of the West) sings the song at the end of Act I, once she realizes that the Wizard is not the man she idolized and embraces her vendetta against his cruel acts.
What makes the song especially cool is that Elphaba appears to levitate high above the stage at the climax of the song, right before the musical hits its intermission.
If you're a Glee fan, you may remember this song from when Lea Michele and Chris Colfer covered it in Season 1.
