Get your typing fingers ready: Oprah’s closet is fair game to the fastest tweeter!
Okay, not really… but recently, one lucky fan was in front of her computer at the right time and managed to snag the long, feathery gown designed by Brian Rennie for Basier that Oprah wore on her March 2014 Essence cover. How’d she pull it off? Just by asking for it.
“You look beautiful in that Essence cover pic. WOW,” a fan named Brandi tweeted Oprah last month. “Can I please have that dress? Cuz I know u won’t wear again lol luv u.”
And shockingly enough, the Busiest Woman in The World responded. “You’re right. I won’t ever wear again,” Oprah said. “Contact my asst. and show her this tweet.”
Exactly a week later, the dress was in Brandi’s hands, which she plans to “wear at my wedding when I find a groom.” The dress is literally perfect for a wedding, and will undoubtedly bless Brandi’s future marriage for centuries to come. You know how the old wedding adage, “Something old, something new, something that belonged to Oprah, something blue.” Now all Brandi has to do is find something blue.
If we knew Oprah was giving stuff away simply because someone asked, we would have started pestering her on Twitter a long time ago. Oprah, can we have some cash? Our own show on OWN (sans LiLo)? A place in your heart — and mansion — as your adopted children?
You get a dress! And you get a dress! Everybody gets a dress!
