Update (July 1, 2014):
Guess the docs were able to give Christ Bearer back his parts. The rapper says not only is he back, he’s looking to break into the porn industry! Hear the whole expletive-laden interview over at TMZ.
Update (April 18, 2014):
Details are still emerging about what all happened this week when Andre did what he did but a source tells E! News the rapper used a steak knife to remove his genitalia and was under the influence of drug PCP (aka Angel Dust).
This, however, drugs weren’t around if you ask sources talking to TMZ. Rapper Supreme, whom TMZ identifies as a friend of Andre’s, says he never saw Andre do any illicit drugs. That’s a similar claim to the onefolks at the scene said the day of the incident.
Whatever caused Andre to hurt himself, we just hope he’s getting the help he needs!
And so do his buddies also affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan. The group’s publicist, Heathcliff Berry, tells Us Weekly, “I feel terrible for what happened to Andre Johnson. I hope he finds peace and gets the help that he needs.” He adds that Andre was “not a member of Wu-Tang Clan” but rather part of a group, Northstar, that was “only loosely affiliated” years ago.
Update (April 17, 2014):
Doctors weren’t able to reattach Andre’s penis after he cut it off yesterday, reports TMZ. He’s still at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was rushed yesterday after jumping from the second-floor balcony of his North Hollywood apartment. He’s reportedly in stable condition.
Original story (April 16, 2014):
In news of the weird and highly disturbing, a rapper has cut off his own penis and jumped from a building.
Andre “Christ Bearer” Johnson (the one on the right in the photo) survived the jump from the North Hollywood apartment complex, Los Angeles Police Sgt. William Mann tells CNN. Then he and “his recovered penis” were taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, also known as the birthplace of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter, North West. So many fond memories.
As for Andre, he’s a member of Long Beach hip hop outfit Northstar, a group founded by Wu-Tang Clan members that released its latest album in 2008. Andre has also appeared on songs including “When the Guns Come Out,” which was featured on the soundtrack of the 2004 movie Blade: Trinity.
Details on what may have inspired the incident, which TMZ is calling a suicide attempt, aren’t currently available and TMZ isn’t sure if doctors are attempting to reattach Andre’s penis.
Members of Northstar were at the building and tell TMZ it all happened in seconds. By the time they ran downstairs, Andre was “already up and running around screaming incoherently.” They add they were not on “any hard drugs that would cause him to do such a thing.”
