It looks like Madonna’s eldest daughter, Lourdes, is following in mommy’s footsteps! The Detroit Free Press reports that the 17-year-old is officially joining the incoming freshman class at the University of Michigan, the same school Madonna, who is a Bay City, Michigan native, briefly attended in the 1970s.

According to the Detroit Free Press, a profile of Lourdes, aka Lola, appears in the university’s student directory, which states she is studying in the University’s School of Music,Theatre & Dance. See, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree — education wise, that is!

The proud momma showed her support by posting a snapshot of U-M’s school store, The M-Den on Ann Arbor’s South State Street, with the caption, “I think I’ll stop in here!” We hope Madonna picked up a super-stylish blue U-M sweatshirt...just saying.

It’s no surprise that Lourdes chose her mom’s kind of alma mater, especially since Madonna has been raving about it to Lola for some time now. "I keep telling her Ann Arbor is an awesome place,” OG Material Girl said to the NFL Network right before her Super Bowl XLVI halftime show in 2012.

Lola, who recently celebrated her prom and high school graduation, took to her Material World blog to dish about how nervous yet excited she is about leaving high school behind. “[I’m] very happy and slightly saddened ... that my High School years are now coming to an end,” she wrote.

“So many things that have been a part of my everyday routine for the past four years now suddenly aren’t and it’s weird because so much more lies ahead — yet it feels almost empty to wrap up high school,” she added. We’re sure that feeling will disappear once college starts!

Congratulations, Lourdes!
