It wasn't all fun and laughs at the Comedy Store in West Hollywood, California, on July 1. TMZ reports Katt Williams threatened a heckler with a gun and that the cops responded with weapons drawn.

Apparently, the 40-year-old funnyman was just mingling at the comedy club when someone started teasing him about his height and race.

That's when Katt "went crazy" and brandished a gun, according to eyewitnesses.

One of those bystanders called 911, and police cars arrived, the cops approaching the club with shotguns and bean bag guns drawn. But by that point, Katt had already fled the scene.

TMZ reports the authorities are investigating the situation and have so far not issued an arrest warrant.

This wouldn't be Katt's first brush with the law; he's been arrested eight times since 2006.

Aside from his legal woes, Katt is widely recognized for his three HBO comedy specials, his improv on the MTV show Wild 'n Out, his supporting gigs in the sitcom My Wife and Kids and the movie Friday After Next, and his voice role in Adult Swim's The Boondocks.
