Don’t drink and drive, people!
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has played Hercules and lived the Fast & Furious life, but today he's just grateful that his family members are alive after a serious car accident.
The Rock shared the photo below on Instagram on August 10, giving a visual to the close call his mother, Ata Johnson, and cousin, WWE Diva Savelina "Lina" Fanene, faced a few days ago.
“My mom & cousin @linafanene were struck head on by a drunk driver this week - they lived. First reaction is to find the person who did this and do unrelenting harm to them. But then you realize the most important thing is my family lived thru this and we can hug each other that much tighter these days. Hug your own family tighter today and be grateful you can tell them you love them. #BearHugsAndGratitude #100PercentPreventable #ChoicesMatter.”
Yikes! The Rock's uncle Afa told TMZ that the two women were driving home from a fundraiser they run every year when they were hit by the alleged drunk driver. They were taken to the hospital and Dwayne's 65-year-old mom was reportedly hospitalized for three nights. (No word on the condition of the driver in the other vehicle.)
Lina shared this photo on Instagram the day of the crash, writing, “On our way to the USOs Foundation Banquet....but first... Let's take a selfie! 🚙 #PutYourSeatBeltOnAunty #Funny":
We certainly wish both women a speedy recovery. In less important but still unfortunate news, the white Escalade that Dwayne bought his mom for Christmas in 2012 was obviously totaled. But at least the whole family looks like they’ll make it to Christmas 2014.
